SPA -28- POLITICAL/ PRINCE NAIF HOLDS PRESS CONFERENCE ON TERRORISM RIYADH, SEP. 30, SPA -- PRINCE NAIF BIN ABDULAZIZ, MINISTER OF INTERIOR, TODAY REITERATED THE STANCE OF THE KINGDOM OF SAUDI ARABIA TOWARDS TERRORISM, CONFIRMING THAT THE KINGDOM IS ALWAYSAGAINST THE KILLING OF INNOCENT PEOPLE AND DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTIES.'THE KINGDOM'S POSITION IN THIS REGARD IS CLEAR', HE TOLD A PRESS CONFERENCE AT HIS OFFICE IN RIYADH TODAY. SAUDI ARABIA'S MINISTER OF INTERIOR TOLD REPORTERS THAT 'THE KINGDOM WAS TARGETED BY TERRORISTS YEARS AGO, EVEN BEFORE THE ATTACK ON THE HOLY MOSQUE WHICH HE DESCRIBED AS AMONG THE MOST HORRIBLE TERRORIST ACTS. 'FOLLOWING THAT, AS EVERYBODY KNOWS, THERE HAVE BEEN EVENTS CLOSE AND DISTANT IN TIME', HE ADDED. 'THEREFORE, THE KINGDOM'S POSITION AGAINST TERRORISM WAS NOT NEW NOR IS IT THE OUTCOME OF WHAT HAD HAPPENED IN THE UNITED STATES EARLY THIS MONTH', HE SAID RECALLING STATEMENTS ISSUED BY OFFICIALS IN THE KINGDOM AGAINST WHAT HAPPENED IN AMERICA. THESE STATEMENTS STEM FROM THE KINGDOM'S 'BELIEF AND PRINCIPLES WHICH WERE KNOWN TO EVERY ONE', HE NOTED. HE CONFIRMED THAT THE KINGDOM IS AGAINST THE KILLINGS OF WOMEN, CHILDREN AND INNOCENT MEN AND DEMOLITION OF PROPERTIES. 'THIS IS OBVIOUS TO THOSE WHO FULLY FOLLOW ISLAM AND TO THOSE WHO ADDRESS THEMSELVES TO THE REALISTIC POSITION WHICH IS THE POSITION OF THE KINGDOM.
