  DAMASCUS, SEPT 29 (KUNA) -- SYRIA AND IRAN ASSERTED SATURDAY THE NEED OF
  NOT LINKING TERRORISM ONE ONE HAND WITH ARABS AND MUSLIMS ON THE OTHERS,
  CALLING FOR COMBATING TERROR UNDER THE U.N. UMBRELLA.
  THE POSITION CAMDE DURING A MEETING BETWEEN VISITING IRANIAN FOREIGN
  MINISTER KAMAL KHARRAZI AND SYRIAN PRESIDENT BASHAR AL-ASSAD.
  A PRESIDENTIAL SPOKESMAN SAID BOTH SIDES DISCUSSED REGIONAL AND
  INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENTS AFTER THE SEPTEMBER 11 ATTACKS AGAINST THE U.S.
  THEY, ADDED THE SPOKESMAN, CALLED FOR DIFFERENTIATING BETWEEN TERRORISM AND
  NATIONAL RESISTANCE TO LIBERATE THE LAND.
  KHARRAZI MET EARLIER WITH FOREIGN MINISTER FAROUK AL-SHARA ON COORDINATION
  OF POSITIONS OVER THE ATTACKS AGAINST THE WORLD TRADE CENTER IN NEW YORK CITY
  AND PENTAGON IN WASHINGTON THAT KILLED AND WOUNDED THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE.
  ON IRAN'S REJECTION TO JOIN THE US-LED INTERNATIONAL ANTI-TERROR COALITION,
  KHARRAZI SAID THIS DID NOT MEAN THAT TEHRAN WAS BACKING TERRORISM.
