Arabs should rise to counter malicious propaganda--1st add

x x x humanity. '' Al Khaleej'' of Sharjah said that the current developments witnessed by the Arab region and the whole world is a replay of the 1990-1991 scene of the second Gulf war, but with some differences in time, place and mechanisms. '' After Iraq invaded Kuwait, Washington led an international alliance to liberate Kuwait. Israel was then denied any role so as to secure support of Arab and Muslim countries. Today, the US, following explosions on New York and Washington, is building up a similar coalition against terrorism but, this time against a faceless enemy who may be Osama bin Laden, Afghanistan or Arab and Muslim countries,'' the paper said. '' The covert campaign is against the Arab and Muslim world although the US officials were trying to correct slips in their tongues, in reference to a crusade war spelled out by US President. Washington also said that Israel will not be part of the proposed coalition so as not to alienate Arab and Muslim countries and to avoid giving the impression that its campaign against bin aLden or Afghanistan is a mere a western fight against an Islamic group or state. ''The US distanced itself diplomatically from the Middle East, giving Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon a free hand to commit genocide against the Palestinian people. Today, Washington is playing the same game by impsoing some measures on Sharon to calm the situation until war against terrorism and its ghost is over. '' After the second Gulf war, came the Madrid peace conference, followed by Oslo accords. The first intifada was aborted in exchange of promises which prove later to be false. '' Today, its seems the scenario is being replayed and the Aqsa intifada is the target. The question is +will the Arab and Muslim countries believe this lie or will they be careful enough to draw lessons from the past decade.?+ WAM/TF
