Algeria Willing to Participate in an
International Coalition Against Terrorism
|
Algeria is willing to participate in an international
coalition against terrorism as part of a "united strategy" and an
"accurate action", an informed source told APS on Wednesday. This
participation, the same source pointed out, shall take place "in all
the stages and in all its manifestations." As such, the talk about
an international fight against terrorism ever since the attacks on
September 11th against the United States can only be "welcomed
favourably by Algeria," confronted for over ten years to the horrors
of this evil which has proved more than ever its international
feature.
Algeria's presence in a future coalition, which
outline remains to be defined, must have no other objective than the
fight against terrorism, the same source observed, pointing out in
the meantime that this fight "must not take the shape of a war
against one country, one religion, one people or one civilization."
Algeria, which has always called on the international
community to stand fast against terrorism, weighs up the importance
to combine, within international legality, all efforts to get rid of
this phenomenon.
It is worth recalling that the Cabinet, in its
meeting last Sunday, while examining "the tragic developments that
took place in the United States," underlined "the urgency and
pressing necessity for a universal action organised as part of a
united strategy, complying with international commitments made under
the aegis of the United Nations."
