ABU DHABI, SEPT 16, 2001 (WAM)--As part of its e-government initiative, Dubai Municipality is organising a seminar on +Security of Information in Dubai Municipality+ with the objective of briefing the civic body's senior officials on its security policy with regard to information flowing in and out of the municipality. Eng Hussein Nasser Lootah, assistant director-general of the municipality for Environment and Public Health Affairs and head of the E-Government Implementation Follow-up Committee at the civic body, said that the seminar would be held next Saturday at the municipality headquarters, according to reports in the UAE's dailies. He said the seminar would be attended by assistants of the director-general, directors of departments and members of the committee. Lootah also said that the municipality was fully prepared to implement the e-government project in line with the set plans and priorities. "The e-government project of Dubai Municipality is progressing as per the schedule despite the large volume and varied types of services it provides to the public," he said. As part of a five-year transition plan, he said, the e-services would be made available in the future through channels such as WAP-enabled mobile phones, and touch-screens at various public places.
