SPA-11-GENERAL/SAUDIS IN U.S. RECEIVE ALL ASSISTANCE FROM KINGDOM'S EMBASSY 2 WASHINGTON

PRINCE BANDER POINTED OUT THAT MOST OF THE SAUDIS WHO WERE INVESTIGATED BY THE AMERICAN AUTHORITIES WERE RELEASED. 'HOWEVER, THEEMBASSY IS FOLLOWING UP THE CASES OF THOSE WHO HAVE NOT YET BEEN RELEASED,' HE SAID.

PRINCE BANDER AFFIRMED THAT SENIOR SAUDI OFFICIALS ARE GIVINGUTMOST ATTENTION TO THE SITUATION OF THE SAUDI CITIZENS, AND THE OFFICE OF THE CULTURAL ATTACHE IN WASHINGTON HAS BEEN CONTINUOUSLY CONTACTING THE SAUDI STUDENTS THROUGHOUT THE USA.

HE REFUTED THE EXAGGERATED REPORTS ABOUT CASES OF MURDER AND VIOLENCE AND SAID 'THE SPREAD OF SUCH RUMORS IS AN EXPECTED MATTER INSUCH PREVAILING CIRCUMSTANCES.'

PRINCE BANDER SAID US PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH AND OTHER SENIOR US OFFICIALS HAD MADE IT CLEAR THAT THE EVENTS OF LAST TUESDAYHAD NOTHING TO DO WITH MUSLIMS AND ARABS EITHER INSIDE OR OUTSIDE THEUSA, AND URGED THEIR PEOPLE TO REFRAIN FROM HARMING THE INNOCENT PERSONS ON RELIGIOUS OR NATIONAL GROUNDS.--MORE
