Mubarak denounces all sorts
of terrorism, condoles with Bush
President Hosi Mubarak has condemned all sorts of terrorism and described as appalling the terrorist attacks which took place against US landmarks in New York and Washington.
"Terrorism is very dangerous. We condemn it under any condition," Mubarak told reporters after an emergency cabinet meeting last night. He described the attack as 'incredible and confusing.' "We feel sorry for civilians who died in such attacks," the Egyptian leader said.
Mubarak declined to comment on any possible link between the situation in the Middle East, where Israel has been waging a year-long brutal aggression against Palestinian civilians, and the terrorist attacks in the US.
"No comment for now. The US is facing a catastrophe and I cannot talk about this issue," said the Egyptian leader. He sent a message to President George Bush and expressed his profound condolences for the victims of the operation.
